They only require a few ingredients. In fact, you probably already have everything you need on hand.

Ingredients for Patriotic Marshmallow Pops

Once you’ve gathered your ingredients, pour the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and melt for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until chocolate is smooth and completely melted. (Hint: add a teaspoon of coconut oil to the chips to help them melt even more smoothly.)

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and insert the lollipop sticks into the marshmallows. Also, go ahead and pour the sprinkles into a bowl. That will make it easier to get them onto the marshmallows once they are covered in chocolate.

Use a spoon to help get the marshmallow completely covered in chocolate.

Use another spoon to sprinkle the colors onto the marshmallows.

Recipe type: Cooking With Kids
Prep time:
Total time:
Serves: 24
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 24 marshmallows
  • 1 bottle patriotic colored sprinkles
  • lollipop sticks
  1. Pour sprinkles in a bowl.
  2. Insert a lollipop stick half way into the bottom of each marshmallow.
  3. Lay a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet.
  4. Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in the microwave for 30 seconds. Remove and stir. Melt an additional 15-20 seconds, remove and stir. Continue until it's smooth, but be sure to stop before it starts to harden or get clumpy.
  5. Dip a marshmallow into the chocolate, making sure to cover right up to the stick.
  6. Gently shake a spoonful of sprinkles over the chocolate getting them as evenly covered as you can.
  7. Place the marshmallow pop on the cookie sheet and continue the process until all pops are finished. Place the cookie sheet in the fridge for 20-30 minutes to help the chocolate harden.
  8. Optional: for an added patriotic touch, tie a red, white or blue ribbon on the lollipop stick, just at the base of the marshmallow.
