It’s autumn and pumpkins are everywhere! In our house the pumpkin yumminess is filling the kitchen (have you tried pumpkin bread in a bowl or pumpkin pie breakfast croissants yet?)

Our six year old was eager to get his apron on and help whip up something pumpkin-y this week. Time to make some Sweet Pumpkin Dip! His verdict? “That recipe was so easy and so yummy!”

Sweet Pumpkin Dip

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 (15 oz) can pumpkin
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • ½ teaspoon ginger (powder)

*This recipe costs about $5 at most grocery stores.

1.  Measure the cream cheese and confectioner’s sugar into a food processor.

2.  Have a grown-up help run the food processor until the cream cheese mixture is smooth. With the food processor off, add the pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, orange extract and ginger.

3.  Ask your grown-up to help process the mixture again until smooth and creamy.

4. You can chill your sweet pumpkin dip for a while if you have the patience to wait, but you can also just dig in! We dipped gingersnap cookies and apple slices. Big sister thought the cookies and dip were a perfect autumn match!
