What’s not to love about caramel or chocolate or popcorn?  But mix it all together and YUMMY!  This week’s Cooking With Kids recipe was easy, yummy and only needs 3 ingredients.  That’s right, three!  Chocolate, chocolate and popcorn.  Mmmm…..

Start by melting the chocolate and white chocolate in separate bowls.  You can do this in a double boiler or microwave. We used blocks of baking chocolate but you could also use chocolate chips.

When both chocolates are melted, drizzle about 3/4th of one of the chocolates in a pan lined with wax or parchment paper.  Then drizzle the same amount of the other chocolate over the first.  You can see my boys tended to blob more than drizzle. 🙂

As far as the caramel popcorn goes, you can pop it and have it ready whenever.

Next, let the kids spread the popcorn out over the chocolates.  You can see by Dominic’s fingers that this can get rather messy.

Now, you’ll want to take whatever chocolate is leftover and drizzle it on top of the popcorn.  Then let it harden.  Break it into large pieces and you’re all done.

Then EAT!!

Ingredients
  • 8 oz baking milk chocolate
  • 8 oz baking white chocolate
  • 2 cups microwave caramel popcorn
Instructions
  1. Line a baking tray with parchment or wax paper.
  2. Melt the milk chocolate and white chocolate separately, then allow to cool slightly.
  3. Drizzle most of the chocolate onto the tray, roughly swirling together.
  4. Sprinkle popcorn over the chocolate.
  5. Drizzle over the remaining milk and white chocolate, and chill until set.
  6. Break into big chunks before serving.
