Who loves Butterfinger candy bars? Everybody, right? Flaky, crisp, peanut butter center covered with caramel and chocolate — yes, this is what Heaven tastes like. We decided to take these Heavenly flavors and turn them into a family-friendly, yummy cake. Yes, we went there. And we’re so glad we did.

This dessert is made with chocolate cake filled with caramel happiness and covered in whipped topping and Butterfinger candy bars. It’s basically everything you could ever want in a dessert. It’s served cold, so it’s the perfect summer-time dessert or snack … or lunch. We won’t tell if you won’t!

Everyone is going to want to skip dinner and go straight for dessert when this is waiting in the fridge! Are you ready to try it out for yourself? Check out the full recipe below.
Butterfinger Bomb Cake
Recipe type: Dessert
 
Ingredients
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 jar caramel ice cream topping
  • 4 regular size Butterfinger candy bars
  • 1 8 oz whipped topping
Instructions
  1. Mix cake mix according to box directions, adding in sour cream.
  2. Bake in a 9x13 pan according to box directions.
  3. While still warm poke holes all over cake using the end of a wooden spoon.
  4. Pour caramel topping over the warm cake and into the holes, reserve 5 tablespoons.
  5. Set in fridge to chill for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Spread cool whip over the top, then crush butterfinger bars and sprinkle on cool whip.
  7. Finish by drizzling remaining caramel over the top.
  8. Store in refrigerator.
