A Note From Lisa & Karee:
We are thrilled to be able to donate a portion of every paid membership to help support Orphan Care Ministries around the world. Although we realize the need for helping people easily plan meals for their family while staying within a budget is important, for us, the true drive behind Build A Menu is our ability to be able to give back part of what we make.
Adoption is an issue that is very near and dear to our hearts. Between our two families, we have a total of 11 children and five of them are adopted. They come from Texas, Russia and China. They are precious to us in every way and if we could, we would adopt many more! There are approximately 147 million children world wide without families and it is up to people just like you and just like us to help provide for the needs of these children.
We are so pleased to be able to donate to these worthy organizations and invite you to spend some time getting to know more about them. They are true heroes in the lives of many children and it is because of their tireless efforts that so many receive life-saving food, water, medicine, surgeries, homes and advocates for them to find families of their own. Some of the organizations we support help care for children who are currently living with at least one parent, but don’t have the means to provide even the most basic needs for their children.
Charities and Programs We Support
WACAP (World Association for Children and Parents) is a 35 year old non-profit finding adoptive families for orphaned and vulnerable children in the U.S. and abroad. Having placed over 10,000 children into loving homes, WACAP specializes in finding families for older children and children with special medical or developmental needs. Gifts to WACAP’s Promise Fund help to identify waiting children, create materials to promote their adoptions, and provide grants to families when finances are a barrier to bringing them home.
Point Hope
Point Hope is a nonprofit which helps support children internationally and domestically. Internationally Point Hope aids vulnerable children, women and the disabled from West Africa in Ghana. Domestically Point Hope is working with caring, compassionate people of action to start “Point of Hope” Chapters across the U.S., which hosts special events for foster children and also raises funds for Point Hope to continue the mission of being a Voice for For Forgotten Children…Saving Lives, Providing Purpose, Restoring Hope.
Show Hope
Founded by Steven Curtis Chapman, Show Hope is a non-profit organization that mobilizes individuals and communities to meet the most pressing needs of orphans in distress by providing 1) homes for waiting children through adoption aid grants, and 2) life-saving medical care for orphans with special needs.
Compassion
A Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Compassion helps more than 1.2 million children in 26 countries.
Arms of Hope
A Christian organization focused on assisting and extending a loving hand to some of the most disadvantaged children and single-mother families in our culture by providing shelter, necessities and life skills at their greatest point of need.
Caring for China’s Orphans
Provides the most basic necessities often taken for granted to orphan’s in China. They provide food, clothing, medication, education, housing & surgery.
Lifesong for Orphans
Seek to mobilize the church, His body, where each member can provide a unique and special service: some to adopt, some to care, some to give.
Each of these charities shares the common goal of helping care for children when no one else is. They deserve all the help they can get, which is why we started Build A Menu in the first place. Your membership helps us fulfill a dream of being able to give to these charities in a way we never could have done before and we’re so grateful for your partnership in this endeavor!
